Welcome back to Demo Download. Below the paywall you’ll find two Lamniformes songs, unmixed, unmastered and very much in progress. As I mentioned last month I’ve been organized live drums and bass tracks recorded on a productive morning session at Fieldnotes Studio in Greenpoint, Brooklyn and re-arranging software instruments from my original demos around them. These re-arrangements are meant as guides for the session players across the North American continent I’ve enlisted to remotely record the rest of the instruments. The two songs below are the last of the batch that bassist Sam Fallas-LoMento and I recorded with engineer Mike Tierney. They took longer to finish than the rest of the songs for the simple reason that they are more complicated. They feature more dramatic changes in rhythm, both in terms of tempo and meter than the rest of the Nurse EP combined. They are some weird, wooly, tunes. I love them.
If you are a playing subscriber, I hope you love them too. If you are not a paying subscriber but think that you could learn to love some of my weirder and woolier songs, consider signing up for $5 a month or $40 a year. Thanks for listening. See you again on Friday with another free letter.
