It’s a crummy day out here in Brooklyn, which means that I’m looking for ways to occupy my time inside. If you’re also looking for indoor distractions, crummy day or no, here are some projects I recently released that may interest you.
First, an interview with Felix Walworth of Told Slant on Lamniformes Radio. While the occasion for the interview was the release of Point The Flashlight and Walk, Walworth’s third album as Told Slant, our conversation covered the bulk of the project’s recorded history. We also go on a prolonged digression into harp playing that somehow led to me struggling to remember the term “dembow.” Felix is one of my favorite people to talk about music with, and I had a lot of fun directing their sharp interpretive mind back on their own music. I think the discussion is worth a listen for Told Slant fans and newcomers.
I’m sure Felix would also appreciate it if you gave their music a listen on Bandcamp as well:
You may recall that a few weeks ago I performed a “live” concert with Bellows for BABY TV. If you tuned in, thank you so much! If you missed, fret not. Whether you “were there” or not, you can now watch two of the songs were performed at this show.
The videos were arranged, engineered, and shot by Richard Gin. The audio was mixed by Jack Greenleaf, who also played bass, sang back up, and used Ableton for the performance itself. Also performing were Frank Meadows on keys, sampler, and backing vocals, myself on drums and glockenspiel, and Oliver Kalb singing lead and playing acoustic guitar.
That’s all for now! Enjoy your weekend.
