Hello! This letter, a playlist of songs that I’ve enjoyed over the last fifteen days, is a paid subscriber exclusive. If you’re already a subscriber, scroll on down to enjoy revivalist hip-hop, melodic British metal, speaker-busting French IDM, cross-genre covers, and more! If you’re not a paid subscriber yet, well I’d certainly prefer it if you were, but it’s all good.

In fact, if you’d like to support Lamniformes but aren’t interested in a monthly subscription there’s a very convenient compromise just around the corner. Tomorrow (December 2nd, if you’re opening this email later) is Bandcamp Friday. If you purchase any music or merchandise on Bandcamp all of the money will go directly to the artist instead of subsidizing Fortnite servers. Perhaps you’d enjoy a Lamniformes album. I’d recommend You Can’t Do This Alone if you’re into sound design, and Sisyphean if you really want to lean into your seasonal affective depression. Maybe you’re looking for a new shirt. I’ve got you covered. If you want a physical object that you can’t easily wear on your body, consider the Sisyphean cassette, complete with beautiful packaging that makes it worth owning even if you don’t own a cassette player.

Well, that’s all for now. Oh wait! Earlier this week I revived my podcast Lamniformes Radio to interview my old friend and off-and-on collaborator AJ Santillan about her other band Massa Nera, who are about to release their sophomore album. We talked about how she joined Massa Nera, transitioning during the pandemic, touring in a post-COVID world, and much more!

Ok, that covers it for now. I’ll be back soon with a summary of the first year of Drumming Upstream along with my favorite non-music art from 2022. Alright, talk soon!
