Welcome back to Playlist Postscript! Every month I return to an old playlist of mine and provide my present day thoughts on the songs included. For the last year I’ve used this series to revisit the my monthly playlists from 2019. For the rest of 2025 I’d like to take a detour into a different genre of playlist so that we can start the 2020 retrospective (which I’m sure will be a blast LOL) in January.

I love few things more than being asked by friends and acquaintances to make them a playlist of heavy music. I am in a perpetual state of thinking that they, meaning everyone, would never ask, and am swift to oblige them when pleasantly surprised. This month’s playlist was requested by former Lamniformes drummer and friend of the newsletter Peter back in 2014. As always with Playlist Postscript the songs that hold up the best will receive The Coveted Lamniformes Shark Emoji of Approval (🦈) while the songs that will eventually factor into Drumming Upstream will be marked by The Drum Emoji of Destiny (🥁).

Playlist Postscript is exclusive to my paying subscribers. Gain access to this series and other mysterious bonuses for $5 a month or $40 a year.
